20-APR-1946 :- The League of Nations officially dissolves, giving most of its power to the United Nations.

The Organisation for international cooperation and peace, the League of Nations, established by the Allied Powers at the end of World War I was officially dissolved in Geneva, Switzerland. From its inception, the League, though the brainchild of President Woodrow Wilson of the United States of America (USA), was weakened by the failure of that country to join. The organisation ceased its operation during World War II and was replaced by the new international body, the United Nations, in 1946.
