William Howard Stein
(June 25, 1911 – February 2, 1980) was an American biochemist. He won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1972 for their studies of the composition and functioning of the pancreatic enzyme ribonuclease. He shared his Nobel Prize with Stanford Moore and Christian B. Anfinsen.
